As a Junior DevOps Engineer at Apptension, you will be expected to:
- manage development environments (from local to cloud) across multiple projects
- support our DevOps Engineer in his day-to-day duties
- find your way around our stack: Docker, Jenkins, HashiCorp Vault, AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, Cloudfront, IAM, Lambda), Google Cloud Platform (Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL), Kubernetes, nginx
- share your ideas to improve our DevOps processes
Here’s a list of the qualities we would like you to have:
- you have some experience with Docker. You know how to configure docker-compose and networking. When creating a Dockerfile, you’re thinking about how to do it in the most efficient and space-saving way.
- when it comes to Git, you know better than to abort and try again when you see a mid-rebase conflict and you care about your branching strategy
- you’re familiar with different kinds of web app architectures
- you know how to use Python and Bash or Shell
- you‘re familiar with the best practices of nginx
- you have basic understanding of network management (DNS, Firewall) and VPN
These will help you stand out from the other candidates:
- you’ve already given Kubernetes a try (using Minikube will do)
- you’re familiar with AWS (Elastic Beanstalk)
