As a DevOps Engineer at Apptension, you will be expected to:

manage development environments (from local to cloud) across multiple projects
find your way around our stack: Docker, Jenkins, HashiCorp Vault, AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, Cloudfront, IAM, Lambda), Google Cloud Platform (Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL), Kubernetes, nginx
share your ideas to improve our DevOps processes
come up with ideas and new solutions for our stack
evaluate, test, accept and introduce new tools to be used by company
review code of the infrastructure written by other teammates
make sure everything is created with compliance to the devops ideology and rules
make sure everything is secure and safe

Here’s a list of the qualities we would like you to have:

you have advanced experience with Docker. Multistage is the very first thing you think of when someone tries to install node along with Python just to build some dist and when it comes to layering, caching and optimisation, there’s nothing more that can be done after you finish your work.
nothing scares you in the git. If someone accidentally removes his changes and they were not pushed to the origin, you just smile during reflog invocation.
you’re familiar with different kinds of web app architectures
you know how to use Python and Bash properly
you‘re familiar with the best practices of nginx and any kind of its optimisation
you have a strong experience in network management (DNS, Firewall) and VPN
your have working experience with HashiCorp Terraform (or other “infrastructure as a code” tool) and Ansible. You know how to automate and set up repeatable infrastructure parts
you’ve worked with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
you’ve set up different kind of Kubernetes clusters in your work
