Our banking client from New York is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the client's team working on application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. As a part of this team, you will play an essential role in ensuring that project development follows a high-quality client-centric design process, by voicing clients' needs, and striving to create experiences that are consistent, uniform, intuitive and delightful.
Your role in the project:
- Data mining and data modelling: extract data from various data sources, understand their structure, clean, transform and organize in a new format for reporting and further analysis using statistical methods and machine learning
- Support and cooperate with data scientists in the development of predictive models by preparing well-structured datasets
If you possess...
- Bachelor/Master/Ph.D.'s Degree in a quantitative field (computer science, financial engineering, mathematics, data science or engineering)
- 3+ experience in data engineering: data mining, data manipulation
- Hands-on experience in SQL and PYTHON is an absolute must-have
- Strong communication and problem-solving capability
- English on a communicative level, both in writing and speaking
Nice to have:
- Financial/Banking experience
- Experience in of Machine-Learning, especially in time-series analysis, linear regression or/and financial risk modelling, will be an asset,
- Understanding statistics and its application in data analysis
- Developing solutions using Hadoop
