The role:
This is a position of a Technical Enablement Architect II within a Field and Technical Enablement team. (FTE) is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly productive individual who will be involved in development, maintenance, and technical support of the features/functionalities of an existing home-grown hands on technical lab application and Product Training Catalog application. In addition, this person will design and build new solutions and tools for the enablement team to deliver world class interactive training and learning to Akamai’s Services, Support, and Pre-Sales teams.This person will work in a global, cross-cultural team, and become the main “go-to” resource for technical projects associated with training delivery within this team.
Responsibilities:
- Administer AWS resources owned and used by the team
- Run and enhance a technical virtual lab environment based on AWS
- Operate and administer server systems to run web applications upon
- Provide 1st and 2nd level support for those systems and they system’s end users.
- Implement and maintain features and functionalities of existing web applications used to support Field and Technical enablement.
- Enhance existing software solutions utilized by FTE, by analyzing and identifying areas for optimization or refactoring.
- Maintain standards for reliable, scalable, and robust systems.
- Design and Develop new tools and solutions for the enablement team
- Data Engineering to enable data driven decisions
- Data Engineering for Business Intelligence dashboards
- Proactively identify areas for automation opportunity
- Develop and Maintain automation tools as part of data engineering and report building
Basic Qualification:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- At least three years experience in full stack development
- At least two years’ Linux administrator experience
- At least one year hands on experience in Core Java
- At least one year hands on experience in front end technologies HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, PHP
- At least one year hands on experience with MySQL
- At least one year experience in Python
- English language skills on a CEFR C1 or above level
- At least six months of hands-on AWS experience
- At least two years shell scripting experience
Desired Qualification:
- Responsible, self-disciplined, self-management, curious, and solutions oriented.
- AWS certified (for example AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Linux certified (for example LPIC-1)
- Hands-on experience with NodeJS and MongoDB
- Knowledge about Azure, Google Cloud and Docker/Kubernetic virtualization platforms
- Experience with DevOps tools to automate lifecycle management of hundreds of virtual machines
- Experience in working with contractors and external vendors
- Experience in designing and delivering technical lab/training environments
- Ready to learn and work on new technologies and dynamic work environment
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment, with a customer base having varying degrees of technical proficiency and lab support needs, and be able to interact/communicate effectively with all levels of the organization based on business needs
- A versatile individual with strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
