    Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our Privacy Engineering and Storage Services teams. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building robust, scalable systems that ensure data privacy and optimize storage solutions across our platform.


    You will collaborate closely with our Security, Legal, Product, and Infrastructure teams to design and implement systems that meet stringent privacy requirements and provide efficient, reliable storage services. Your work will play a critical role in enabling us to maintain our commitment to user privacy while supporting our company’s exponential growth.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and Develop: Architect and implement scalable systems to ensure user data privacy and efficient storage solutions. Build tools and frameworks that empower teams to create secure and privacy-compliant applications.
    • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Security, Product, Legal, and Infrastructure teams to ensure that privacy and storage solutions meet all necessary compliance and performance requirements.
    • Drive Privacy Initiatives: Lead and participate in cross-team initiatives focused on enhancing our privacy and data protection capabilities.
    • Innovate: Stay ahead of industry trends in privacy engineering and storage technologies. Drive the adoption of best practices and innovative approaches within the team.
    • Quality and Standards: Improve the quality standards and development processes within the team. Ensure that all solutions are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
    • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


    Qualifications:

    • Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on privacy, security, or storage systems. Working understanding of data protection laws, regulations and best practices including expertise in GDPR compliance an asset. 
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and database technologies. Deep understanding of encryption, data masking, and other privacy-preserving technologies.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers. Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence technical decisions across teams.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex privacy and storage challenges.
    • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
