    Adtran (formerly ADVA) is a global company defining the future network with innovative next-generation solutions that enable telecommunication service providers to deliver voice, data and video services to homes and businesses. We've been present in Poland since 2003 and our business office is located in Gdynia.

    Principle duties and essential functions


    Our Data Communication Networks team focuses on providing Layer 1 (physical), Layer 2 (data-link), and Layer 3 (network) management access capabilities for both the current as well as the next generation Adtran equipment. The primary responsibility of the Junior Software Engineer working in this group will be to design, develop, and maintain software according to technical specifications, high-level requirements, and/or published standards.



    • Assist in the systems’ design activities
    • Design, implement, and debug C++ applications
    • Refactor and redesign existing software components
    • Perform Unit Tests of software modules
    • Perform Integration Tests of software modules


    Knowledge, skills, and experience required

    • Practical experience in the use of Linux as a development environment (development, debugging)
    • Good knowledge of C++
    • Familiar with Ethernet, IP, TCP, and UDP protocols


    Knowledge, skills and experience nice to have

    • Basic understanding of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, etc. ...)
    • Basic understanding of Layer 2 Control Protocols (e.g. STP/RSTP/MSTP, LLDP, MVRP, etc. ...)
    • Experiences with the SCM systems: Subversion and GIT, as well as with CMake
    • Experience with agile software development
