Our Engineering team pushes the boundaries of what is possible in web applications. They are forward thinking with an eye for what is secure and effective. The primary responsibility of this role is simple: extend, scale, and improve the core codebase of our application, specifically improving the experience for our clients.

A college degree in CS / CE is recommended but not required. We know learning does not always happen in the classroom so be prepared to demonstrate what you know. The Senior Engineer will aim to extend and improve the core codebase of our application, through fixing bugs, supporting current applications, creating new applications, and finding creative ways to improve the experience of our application. The Sr. Engineer will focus on suitable, quality fixes to code, supporting current platforms, and making new applications. The role will also focus on learning new technologies which we may need to support clients or improve the development workflow and maintaining any existing code. This role will work closely with the Development Team.
Duties:
- Develop, debug, and implement tickets utilizing PHP
- Follow code releases standards and ticket management processes
- Track down and squash bugs when found or reported
- Get familiar with the four aspects of our application: servers, our BE API, our FE website, and the database
- Estimate tickets’ level of effort
- Communicate with CS in ongoing effort to ensure smooth releases
Requirements:
- Provisioning experience with Vagrant
- Experienced with PHP, including framework design (for example: Laravel, Symphony, etc. but ours is custom built)
- Strong organizational and scheduling ability
- Linux experience
- GIT and Bitbucket experience
- Good written and oral communication
- WordPress development experience
- Database experience with either MySQL or MongoDB
- Degree in Computer Science preferred but not required.
