A venture funded augmented reality studio in Hong Kong is looking for a Lead Backend Engineer for its upcoming title offering virtual animal companions that are embodied in augmented reality and secured on the blockchain.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Backend development from scratch (the tech is up to you!)
- Being in charge of the backend technical development
- Workforce optimization - making sure the team (2-4 engineers) are effectively deployed
- Roadmap optimization and setting team's priorities accordingly
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong software architecture skills. You’re able to think ahead and create modular designs that make it easier to collaborate, iterate and grow.
- Knowledge in databases. You know how to structure both SQL and NoSQL databases for queriability and performance.
- Containers. Docker is a natural part of your workflow for both building and deploying your software.
- Linux. You feel at home in Linux or in UNIX-like environments and shell scripting is your go-to tool for simpler tasks that do not require a full fledged programming language.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in the Game Industry and building backends for Game play is a BIG plus.
- Experience with Blockchain and smart contract development is a BIG plus.
- Bonus points if you have experience in Kubernetes.
WHAT THEY OFFER:
- Salary: $50k – $125k (USD)
- Equity: 0.5% – 3.0%
- Holidays: Flexible
- Location: Flexible, but they are opening offices in Hong Kong, Taipei and Croatia
- Working hours: Flexible (European working hours are ok)
