Junior QA Automation Engineer

Summary

We are looking for a Junior QA Automation Engineer with solid technical fundamentals, a strong quality mindset, and the ability to clearly separate business intent from technical implementation. The ideal candidate is motivated to grow in test automation for financial systems based on Java, BDD, and messaging-based architectures.

Must Have

Java & Automation Fundamentals

• Basic knowledge of Java 17 (syntax, OOP, collections, exceptions, ability to run a simple project and manage dependencies with Maven/Gradle)

• QA fundamentals (test cases, defects/bugs, regression vs smoke testing, exploratory testing, basic Agile understanding – Scrum/Kanban, defect lifecycle)

• REST API testing foundations (HTTP methods, status codes, basic familiarity with Postman or similar tools – optional)

• Ability to read and modify existing code

• Understanding of core concepts: classes, interfaces, collections, exceptions

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, RestAssured)

• Basic BDD / Cucumber knowledge (Given/When/Then, scenarios vs scenario outlines, step definitions)

• Basic Git usage (clone, commit, push, pull)
