Senior Node.js Engineer on-site Kraków or Gdańsk

Role Overview

We're on the lookout for a seasoned backend engineer proficient in JavaScript ecosystems, particularly Node.js and Nest.js, to help us evolve our internal technology platform. You’ll be key in extending our system’s capabilities, shaping new product features from scratch, and connecting external services through API integrations.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the architecture and development of a proprietary platform used across the business.
• Integrate and optimize connections with third-party services and APIs.
• Take ownership of new functionalities — design, build, and deliver them independently or as part of a team.

What You Bring

• Strong grasp of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and backend development.
• At least 3 years of commercial experience building applications with Node.js and Nest.js.
• 5+ years in web development roles, demonstrating maturity across the stack.
• Proven ability to work with high-throughput systems, both SQL and NoSQL-based.
• Familiarity with modern API technologies including REST, GraphQL, and real-time comms like WebSockets.
• Practical understanding of testing methodologies (TDD) and writing robust, maintainable test suites.
• Working experience in systems based on microservice patterns.
• Competent with version control tools, especially Git.
• Experience working with message queues (RabbitMQ) and caching solutions (Redis).

Bonus Skills

• Exposure to containerized environments and microservice deployment (2+ years).
• Hands-on work with Kubernetes clusters.
• Understanding of messaging systems like NATS.
• TypeScript proficiency is highly desirable.
