Job description

Xperi invents, develops and delivers technologies that create extraordinary experiences at home and on the go for millions of people around the world. Powering billions of consumer electronics, connected cars and digital content titles, we make entertainment more immersive, driving more intelligent and every interaction seamlessly personalized through our renowned consumer brands: DTS®, HD Radio™, and TiVo®.

Xperi (NYSE: XPER) is a publicly traded technology company headquartered in San Jose, CA with over 1800 employees across North America, Europe and Asia. Come join a thriving team where you can play an integral role in shaping the future of entertainment technology.

About the role:

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape the next stage of our data ecosystem. In this role, you will drive the migration and modernization of our data infrastructure, building scalable, reliable data pipelines that support the transformation of the entire organization.

You’ll work heavily with BigQuery and dbt, using your hands-on experience to design, build, and refine data workflows that are both efficient and maintainable. We’re looking for someone who can think logically, solve complex problems, and stay steady in a fast-changing environment. Strong communication and self-organization skills are just as important - you should feel comfortable navigating ambiguity, working across teams, and bringing structure where it's needed.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll help shape our data architecture, influence key decisions, and lay the groundwork for a truly data-driven future across the company.

What you will get to do:

  •  Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines as we modernize and migrate our data platform

  •  Work directly with BigQuery, dbt, and GCP, incorporating solid CI/CD practices to build and optimize reliable, well-structured data workflows

  •  Play an active role in shaping our data architecture and helping the organization grow into a truly data-driven environment

  •  Work closely with a talented group of data engineers and architects—sharing knowledge, supporting their work, and helping the team grow together

Who we are looking for:

Must have:• Strong experience working with BigQuery, dbt (data build tool), and the broader GCP ecosystem• A solid background in building and maintaining data pipelines and data models• Knowledge of Python for data processing and automation• Experience with CI/CD workflows including working with Kubernetes (K8s) for deployment and orchestration• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and contributing to architectural decisions

Nice to have:• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Argo)• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code and containerization.• Exposure to data quality frameworks, monitoring tools, or lineage solutions.• Experience with data ingestion frameworks (dlt, Airbyte) is a plus• Experience with AWS Athena is a plus

What will make you successful:• Great at communicating and collaborating with others• Self-organized and proactive—takes initiative and gets stuff done• Accountable and focused on delivering results as a team player

Life @ Xperi:

At Xperi, we value People, Customers, Performance and Innovation. We are dedicated to creating a workplace where all employees have a voice and sense of belonging, feel safe and valued, and are acknowledged for how their unique differences contribute to organizational culture and business outcomes.

Rewards include:

  • Competitive compensation (salary, equity and bonuses) and comprehensive benefits designed to foster work-life balance, care for your health, protect your finances and help you save and invest for the future.

  • Generous paid time away from work, including flexible time off, holidays and sick time, health and wellness initiatives, and a charitable match program to help you give back to your community.

  • Great perks, which vary by location and can be site-specific: employee discounts, transportation reimbursements, subsidized cafes and fitness facilities.

  • A flexible, hybrid work environment combining the best of in-office collaboration and community-building along with the benefits of working from home.
