Head of Engineering
About Worksuite
Worksuite, established in 2015, has been pioneering a better way of working together, committed to facilitating company growth through our world-class freelancer management platform. Over 1,000,000 people worldwide leverage Worksuite’s Freelancer Management Software, forging connections with external workers, automating processes, and propelling their businesses forward.
Worksuite's 3F core principles are the foundation of our company:
Family First: We believe that our primary focus should be on ourselves, our loved ones, and our teammates. By creating an environment that promotes holistic well-being, we can achieve anything. Only when we are our “whole” self – mentally, physically, and spiritually, can we bring the best to our teammates, customers, and stakeholders.
Flexibility: We believe that the freedom to work where, when, and how you want is crucial to being successful as an individual and as a team. We also believe in taking healthy breaks from work, so we expect everyone to take a minimum of 25 days of paid leave annually, plus a required monthly Mental Health Day.
Fairness: We will reward you fairly for the exceptional work you do... that’s the easy part. We will also give you the authority and autonomy to make great decisions about your work area. We expect everyone on our team will take time each day to recognize the great work they see happening around them.
Position Overview:
The Head of Engineering at Worksuite owns engineering execution, team health, and delivery systems. This is a senior leadership role focused on building people, processes, and scalable ways of working, not owning individual features.
This role is responsible for improving:
Predictability and visibility of product delivery
Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design and Business Users
Engineering systems that support enterprise scale and EASI initiatives
While the Head of Engineering may occasionally review or write code, success in this role is measured by how effectively the organization delivers, not by personal technical output.
This is a 100% remote position, able to work in the CEST and EST time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership & Team Health
Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior individual contributors.
Establish clear expectations, feedback loops, and career development paths.
Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Engineering Execution & Systems
Own engineering execution across teams, ensuring delivery is predictable, visible, and aligned with company priorities.
Design and refine systems for planning, estimation, documentation, and retrospectives.
Improve product development visibility and reduce friction between teams.
This role is highly systems-oriented — focused on how work gets done, not just what gets built.
Product & Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with Product, Design and Business Users to execute the roadmap effectively.
Translate product priorities into clear, executable engineering plans.
Improve collaboration, communication, and shared accountability across functions.
Platform Scale, Integrations & EASI
Drive engineering execution for:
Integrations with external services and enterprise systems
Productized, repeatable workflows
Self-service capabilities that support scale
Ensure engineering execution supports Worksuite’s enterprise customers, not low-ACV or purely PLG use cases.
Technical Stewardship (Non-IC)
Maintain sufficient technical depth to guide architectural discussions and tradeoff decisions.
Support high-quality engineering standards without becoming a delivery bottleneck.
Occasionally review or write code when needed — without owning features.
AI as a Productivity Tool
Encourage and standardize the use of AI-assisted development tools to improve:
Developer productivity
Code quality
Documentation and planning
Help teams use AI effectively as part of how engineering works today — not as customer-facing product features.
Qualifications:
Experience
10+ years of experience in software engineering, including leadership roles.
Experience leading teams in enterprise SaaS environments.
Proven success improving execution, visibility, and engineering systems.
Proven successful use of AI tools in relation to software development.
Written and verbal English proficiency. We operate primarily in English.
Leadership Profile
Exceptional people leader with a servant-leader mindset, strong coaching and mentoring skills in a remote environment.
Highly systems-oriented thinker who balances process with pragmatism.
Comfortable operating through managers and senior engineers.
Product & Platform Mindset
Strong understanding of enterprise product development, integrations, and scalability challenges.
Experience supporting self-service, repeatable workflows, and platform evolution.
Communication & Collaboration
Clear communicator who builds trust across engineering, product, and leadership.
Effective in a remote, distributed environment.
