About the Team

The Global Industry & Value Management Team is a business consulting practice which helps organizations build their business case for Workday.

Our Digital Support Center was established in 2021 and strives to improve the scalability of the Value Management Team and expand their impact in the field. We do it by building tools and dashboards, conducting business and data analysis and providing enablement that help our Value Management, Sales and Marketing organizations achieve their objectives and work more efficiently.

We’re in the beginning of our journey and many challenges are in front of the team. As our Data Engineer within the Digital Support Center you will support, oversee and develop a portfolio of in-house built tools and dashboards used by thousands of our Workmates in Value Management, Sales and Marketing. The main responsibilities include proactive contribution to ongoing projects, constant investigation of new areas for improvement and development, and requirements gathering and management.

To be successful in this role, you should have a solid understanding of deploying and operating software to capture and disseminate structured and unstructured data from many sources. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Designing and building technology architecture to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
• Developing infrastructure to automate the connection between tools.
• Support building processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs.
• Routing data appropriately to store it using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, database technologies, and other applicable storage forms as required.
• Applying ETL techniques in order to connect large data sets from a variety of sources.
• Preparing and manipulating data using appropriate software platforms.
• Build and maintain relationships, and work closely with our technical teams to ensure proper support and accesses for Digital Support Center
• Work closely with stakeholders across the globe (including senior leadership) to make sure business challenges of organizations we support are being addressed
• Supporting the reporting, education, and ongoing development of the team to ensure effectiveness in a dynamic market.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years relevant work experience, ideally in a multinational company.
• Demonstrated experience with Python (NumPy, Pandas, PySpark).
• Proven experience with GCP and/or Amazon Redshift
• Proficiency with ETL and OLAP processes and tools.

Other Qualifications:

• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
• Experience with AI/ML tools development, deployment and adoption is considered a strong plus.
• Experience with Selenium / Scrapy / BeautifulSoup (or other data scraping libraries) is considered a plus.
• Experience with Big Query, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB is considered a plus.
• Willing to learn new concepts independently.
• Excellent collaborator - we are a team of dedicated individuals with very strong comradery.
• Fundamental intuition for business
