Team Lead - Engineering Manager

The Development department in Volue Insight builds and operates a self-serve data platform for efficient storage, modeling, and distribution of substantial amounts of time series data. Volue Insight works with an agile mindset, and we are continuously working to improve our way of work. We run all our infrastructure on Google Cloud using Kubernetes, including our CI/CD pipeline. Most of our engineering colleagues work on Mac or Linux machines using Python, Java and/or JavaScript (TypeScript) as main programming languages.

As a Team Lead in Volue Insight you will be responsible for leading a cross functional team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers, focusing on both people and technology. You will work on setting the teams goals and following up on execution in addition to hands on contributions developing our SaaS offerings.

• Develop and coach the individuals reporting to you
• Work on developing our engineering best practices and culture with our other team leads
• Recruit and maintain top talent
• Lead the team in their daily work
• Collaborate with other functions, like product, to develop team OKRs and track progress
• Contribute hands-on to development

What you need to succeed:

• Passion for working with people and making them thrive at work
• Experience managing interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with OKRs and metric driven development
• Experience with software development and data engineering in a cloud environment

The position reports to Insight Head of Development and cooperates closely with the other Team Leads/Engineering Managers and our Product Managers. We are looking to hire for Volue office in Gdańsk but will be ready to consider other locations for the right candidate.
