Job Description

Pismo is looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join the Europe Localization team. As the company expands globally, the team focuses on developing new features tailored to local markets beyond the core platform.

This role requires a strong focus on security, scalability, observability, and reliability, as you will work on mission-critical components.

The ideal candidate combines solid technical knowledge, architectural understanding, and a collaborative mindset, contributing to high-quality solutions and continuous improvement.

Work Model

• Remote position (with occasional presence in a Visa office if required)

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree
  or 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience (Bachelor’s) or 2+ years (Advanced Degree)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Golang (or Java with willingness to learn Golang)

• Implement features, bug fixes, and system improvements based on defined requirements

• Collaborate with senior engineers on technical discussions and product refinements

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices

• Support AWS infrastructure (Terraform) under team guidance

• Monitor applications using logs, metrics, and observability tools

• Participate in code reviews

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems

• Experience in high-scale environments

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Docker/containers

• Familiarity with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS)

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
