The Role

Location: Kraków, Poland (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer who combines deep Python expertise with a forward-thinking approach to software development. You'll be instrumental in designing and building the backend systems that power our platform, working alongside a talented team that values clean architecture, continuous improvement, and leveraging modern tools including AI-assisted development.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement robust backend services using Python and Django, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance

• Lead the architecture and design of new features and services with a focus on API-first development and deep understanding of HTTP standards

• Champion clean, well-documented, and efficient code with a strong commitment to testing and quality

• Ensure data integrity and efficiency in database usage, particularly with PostgreSQL, and guide optimisation strategies as needed

• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, QA, and DevOps to integrate backend systems into the broader product ecosystem

• Identify and solve complex problems with a strategic mindset, considering both immediate needs and long-term system evolution

• Set coding standards and development practices within the team, fostering a culture of engineering excellence

• Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and architectural approaches, and drive continuous improvement in our engineering processes

• Embrace AI-powered development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and explore new approaches to problem-solving

What We're Looking For

Technical Skills:

• Advanced Python and Django expertise

• Experience with Django REST Framework

• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge

• Mastery of API design and HTTP standards

• Familiarity with DevOps practices

Mindset:

• Openness to modern development tools and practices, including AI-assisted coding

• Curiosity about emerging technologies and how they can improve workflows

• Willingness to experiment and continuously improve
