React Native Developer

About the opportunity:

As a React Native Developer at Vatix, you will take a pivotal role in developing and evolving our mobile applications, which play a mission-critical role in the safety of lone workers and operational staff across industries.

You’ll work with modern technologies — including React Native, Expo, and Tamagui — to deliver high-quality mobile experiences on both iOS and Android. Your expertise will directly impact how thousands of users interact with our platform daily, ensuring our applications remain robust, performant, and intuitive.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role, offering the opportunity to shape the future of our mobile app stack and best practices.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in mobile development, including 3+ years with React Native

• Mandatory experience with Expo and its ecosystem

• Practical knowledge of Tamagui or similar UI libraries is highly desirable

• Proven ability to build and deploy cross-platform apps (iOS and Android) using React Native + Expo

• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, and best practices

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing performance at scale

• Solid understanding of frontend technologies: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS

• Experience with testing, debugging, and code optimisation

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• A proactive, self-starting mindset with a high sense of ownership

• Comfortable working in a cross-functional team with designers, backend engineers, and product managers

Key responsibilities:

• Take the pivotal role on developing and maintaining our mobile applications built with React Native, Expo, and Tamagui

• Collaborate closely with the frontend, backend, and design teams to implement new features and improve existing ones.

• Ensure the mobile applications are optimised for a seamless user experience across multiple devices and platforms.

• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and apply relevant trends and tools to improve product quality

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging processes to maintain high code quality.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our mobile development practices and processes.
