Founded in 2017, Unit8 is a fast-growing Swiss AI and data analytics consulting and services company dedicated to solving complex problems of traditional industries like automotive, chemical, financial services, manufacturing and pharma. About You

• MSc level in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.

• You are a proficient senior AI/ML engineer (3+ years) who knows the fundamentals of computer science and has experience in applying a blend of software engineering, machine learning, and statistical methods to solve real-world business problems.

• You are proficient in Python.

• AI engineering: You are already familiar with prompt engineering, tool calling (MCP), and frameworks like langchain, langgraph, litelllm, and adk. Knowledge about Google GenAI SDK and GCP is a plus.

• ML engineering: You are already familiar with Hugging Face, sentence embeddings, clustering, and NLP methods in general.

• Pragmatic attitude; you are not afraid to take an active part in the engineering aspects of projects.

• Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields.

• You understand the value of teamwork.

• You have strong client-facing skills: comfortable interacting with clients (business & technical audience), delivering presentations, problem-solving mindset.

• You are willing to travel to meet with our clients and the team (Might be once or twice in the USA a year).

• You are able to work in the late afternoons (occasionally up to 7:30 pm)

• You are eligible to register as a sole trader (self-employment) in Poland. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do the registration, we can help with that.

What You’ll Do

• You will primarily work on agentic tool calling systems (MCP, multi-agent architecture, Vertex AI, prompt engineering), to contribute to the implementation and enhancement of the RAG and TextToSQL systems.

• Work with our customers to understand their challenges, design and implement solutions.

• Evaluate, compare, and present results to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Contribute to the implementation and engineering of systems at different scales: from small proof-of-concepts to larger end-to-end data systems.

• Closely collaborate with other data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Use software best practices in continuous integration and delivery, versioning, and data evolution.

• Work in multi-functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives.

• Note: the client is in California, calls will be in the evenings (usually not later than 7:30 pm).
