Data Governance Specialist

Who are we looking for:
We are looking for an analytical and proactive professional who thrives as an educator and "evangelist" for data standards. You should be a communicative problem-solver with a process-oriented mindset and a strong commitment to data security and organizational integrity.
The role & the team:
You will join a specialized team dedicated to shaping a unified approach to data management across the organization and developing the OpenMetadata tool for the entire company. The team focuses on automating data governance processes, maintaining a high-quality data catalog, and supporting Data Stewards in their daily operational functions.
What will you do:
Develop and implement data management policies, maintain the systems register, and communicate Data Governance principles throughout the organization.
Manage data access by coordinating with legal teams for GDPR compliance and conducting audits to protect sensitive information.
Coordinate the registration and handling of data incidents, performing post-incident analyses to minimize future risks.
Configure and manage the Data Governance tool, including metadata harvesting, user permissions, and integration with other systems.
Provide operational support to Data Stewards by coordinating cross-domain tasks and assisting in data quality test identification.
Maintain the data catalog and business glossary to ensure the consistency and accessibility of organizational metadata.
Required skills:
Experience: experience in security or operational processes with a technical understanding of data processing; experience in creating SQL queries and scripts; familiarity with data warehouse operations.
Language: Polish; English (minimum B2).
Tool Pro: knowledge of Data Governance principles and best practices (e.g., DAMA); proficiency in Data Governance tools (preferred OpenMetadata or Collibra, Informatica); knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, European law).
Soft Skills: analytical skills; problem-solving; strong communication; ability to work in cross-functional teams; attention to detail; independence and organizational skills; presentation and training skills.
Bonus points for:
Knowledge of tools for data quality analysis and compliance monitoring.
Experience in data masking and maintaining system registers.
A strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in a dynamic environment.
