Senior Data Product Engineer (Data Mesh)

For one of our international clients, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Data Product Engineer who will join a team responsible for building and maintaining advanced analytical data platforms.

This role is not about building generic pipelines – it’s about owning the logic. You will design and develop modern Data Products based on the Data Mesh methodology, translating complex business needs into high-quality analytical layers.

Poland / Warsaw (100% remote possible for candidates who can visit the Warsaw office occasionally).

 Your responsibilities

• End-to-End Data Product Ownership: Designing and building analytical data layers and "Data Products" that provide real business value, not just moving data from A to B.

• Business Logic Implementation: Gathering requirements and implementing complex business logic, including data reconciliation and root cause analysis.

• Cost-Conscious Engineering: Designing models with a strong focus on cost-optimization (especially within the Snowflake environment) – working on samples and profiling data before full-scale deployment.

• Data Quality & Reliability: Implementing automated Data Quality frameworks and anomaly detection to ensure "single version of truth" for the business.

• Strategic Thinking: Applying the Pareto principle to prioritize tasks and deliver maximum impact with efficient technical solutions.

• Independent Role: Acting as a bridge between the central platform team (who provides the infrastructure) and the business stakeholders.

 Requirements

• Seniority (Must-have): Minimum 6 years of documented experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer.

• Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical logic.

• SQL & Modeling Mastery: Advanced SQL (query optimization is key) and solid experience in relational/analytical data modeling.

• Warehouse Experience: Practical knowledge of modern Data Warehouses. Snowflake is preferred, but we are open to experts in other technologies (BigQuery, Databricks, etc.) who are ready to switch.

• Statistical Validation: Ability to use statistical methods (distributions, percentiles) for data validation and identifying source-level anomalies.

• Autonomy: Experience in taking full ownership of tasks in a senior-level, independent role.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt (modeling, macros, unit testing).

• Knowledge of Python (especially in the context of Snowpark or Airflow orchestration).

• Background in top-tier consulting firms.

• Specific experience in Snowflake cost management.
