Head of Software Development

As the new Head of Software Development, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and goals for the Software Development function, developing and implementing the software development strategy, and managing the software development teams.

Key responsibilities includes:

• Lead, inspire, and develop cross-functional agile teams of developers, QA engineers, and support specialists.

• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure alignment of all engineering efforts with product strategy and business goals.

• Define clear objectives and ensure delivery according to sprint goals and quality standards.

• Oversee end-to-end software delivery — from planning and prioritization to release and post-launch optimization.

• Translate the product roadmap into clear, actionable technical goals.

• Partner with the Head of Product to ensure feasibility, scalability, and timely execution.

• Promote agile excellence and data-driven decision making across all squads.

• Ensure strong development standards, testing practices, and release management processes.

• Drive initiatives that reduce technical debt and improve overall system performance and stability.

• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies transparently to leadership and business teams.

• Collaborate with operations and support functions to ensure smooth handover from development to production.

• Identify tools, workflows, and automation opportunities that enhance team productivity.

Ideal candidate has:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership, including management of distributed teams.

• Strong technical background in .NET, Azure, and API-driven platforms.

• Proven track record in modernizing enterprise SaaS platforms and leading large-scale transformations.

• Experience in cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and agile delivery models.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strategic mindset combined with operational excellence.

• Experience in payments or fintech is a plus.
