Job Description
Summary
As a Product Manager in the Product Team, you will be using your knowledge and experience to relentlessly explore opportunities to generate value for your customers and for TPConnects. You have previously worked in the airline or travel domain and have an excellent understanding of the airline business domain covering distribution, pricing, sales and servicing. In order to be successful in your role, you have strong communication and collaboration skills that will allow you to clearly articulate the needs of your customer.

Key Responsibilities
Integration Strategy & Pipeline Management
Research and evaluate potential new airline partners to connect to our platform, assessing their market value, content offering, and business opportunity.
Build and maintain a prioritized list of target airlines for integration based on customer demand, regional coverage needs, and strategic value.
Determine the best approach to connect with each airline (NDC, GDS, direct connection) based on their capabilities and our platform needs.
Work closely with commercial and partnerships teams to align integration priorities with business objectives and airline partnership agreements.
Integration Product Management
Manage the refinement of new airline integrations and enhancements to existing connections, ensuring input from airline partners, customers, and technical teams.
Clearly define what each airline integration should deliver (search, booking, ticketing, ancillaries, post-booking services), how it will be measured, and what success looks like.
Break down airline integration projects into manageable phases and incremental releases (e.g., start with search, then add booking, then ancillaries).
Verify that completed airline integrations meet all requirements and quality standards before launch.
Technical Coordination & Problem Solving
Work with architecture and engineering teams to make decisions about how airline connections should be built, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
Review airline technical documentation to understand their capabilities, requirements, and any potential challenges.
Backlog & Delivery Management
Manage a prioritized backlog of airline integration projects and improvements, ensuring all requirements are clearly defined and ready for development teams.
Break down complex airline integrations into clear deliverables with realistic timelines and milestones.
Coordinate project schedules with airline partners' timelines, testing periods, and launch dates.
Proactively identify and address risks, dependencies, and obstacles that could delay airline launches.
Airline Partner Collaboration
Serve as the main product contact for airline partners throughout the integration process, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment.
Lead discussions with airline teams to understand their requirements, clarify technical details, and align on integration scope.
Coordinate certification requirements, and production launch activities with airline partners.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with airline contacts from initial conversations through post-launch support.
Resolve issues and facilitate communication between internal teams and airline partners when problems occur.
Quality & Performance Management
Measure integration success using key metrics like uptime, booking conversion rates, content quality, speed, and partner satisfaction.
Monitor airline connection health and identify opportunities to improve performance and resolve content issues.
Work with support teams to investigate production problems, determine root causes, and prioritize solutions.
Stakeholder Communication & Team Enablement
Contribute to the product vision and roadmap for airline integrations and communicate plans effectively to internal teams, partners, and customers.
Share knowledge and best practices about airline distribution and integration processes with colleagues.
Support and empower team members to take ownership of their work and meet integration deadlines.
Ensure effective delivery through strong backlog management, clear communication, and collaboration in an Agile environment.
Skills and Competencies
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in travel technology, airline industry, or platform/aggregator products.
Proven experience managing partner or supplier integrations, ideally with airlines or travel companies.
Familiarity with airline distribution standards such as NDC and GDS.
Understanding of airline products and services including fares, booking flows, ticketing, and ancillaries.
Technical Understanding
Solid understanding of how systems connect and exchange data, including APIs and integration methods.
Comfortable reviewing technical documentation and understanding integration requirements.
Ability to grasp technical concepts and discuss them with engineering teams without needing to be a developer.
Knowledge of airline industry standards and how airlines distribute their content.
Product & Agile Skills
Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Strong ability to manage backlogs, write clear requirements, and define what "done" looks like.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to quality and detail.
Communication & Collaboration
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to different audiences.
Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative and results-oriented approach.
Experience working with external partners and managing stakeholder relationships.
Confident in leading discussions with both business and technical stakeholders.
Self-organized with ability to manage multiple airline integration projects at the same time.
