Senior Database Administrator

Role Overview
The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of enterprise database systems both on-premise and in the cloud. This role ensures the highest levels of data integrity, security, and availability, supporting mission-critical business applications. The Senior DBA will lead migration projects, optimize database performance, ensure compliancy with standards and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable database solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Database Platform Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain (high-available) SQL databases on-premises and in cloud environments.
Define standards, patterns, and best practices for database platforms
Administer and optimize SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Identify & define guard rails for Amazon RDS deployments focussed on Amazon RDS MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Aurora (PostgreSQL) databases
Identify & define guard rails for Azure cloud databases.
Operations and Reliability
Advanced performance troubleshooting and tuning database performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks to ensure optimal operation.
Product and capacity planning
Cost optimization
Ensure database security and compliance with internal and external regulations.
Improve database monitoring and observability
Assist operational teams with deep technical know-how both in a cloud/on-premises context across multiple database engines and platforms.
A focus is placed on MSSQL and PostgreSQL
Migrations
Lead and execute database migration projects, specifically migrations from SQL Server 2012, 2016 to 2022.
Maintain a strong focus on the complexity of tackling large scale migration projects in an enterprise setting.
Collaborate effectively with several key stakeholders
Support application teams in their cloud journey
Ensure the right tool for the job
Support adaptation of PaaS over IaaS components
Automation
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Powershell/T-SQL for database management and deployment.
Govern cloud database deployments through Infrastructure-as-code
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with SQL databases both on-premise and in cloud environments.
Proficiency in SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
Hands-on expertise with Azure SQL, Amazon Aurora, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Strong background in database performance tuning and optimization.
Deep understanding of database architecture, security and compliance best practices.
Demonstrated experience in database migration projects in an enterprise context, especially within the MSSQL ecosystem
Advanced scripting skills
Additional Technologies
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions, preferably Cohesity.
Experience with additional scripting and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Python.
Familiarity with MongoDB and modern NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with data integration platforms, preferably Qlik.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Starting date: Position available since June 2026
Location: Wrocław, Silver Tower Office Center
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week in the office, in line with the need
