OT Security Advisor
Team description:
The Cybersecurity team is a strategic function within TME’s IT & Digital division, helping protect Toyota’s manufacturing, engineering, and operational environments across Europe. Joining this team means contributing to the security and resilience of critical industrial operations, supporting the secure transformation of plants, facilities, and connected operational assets, and working with colleagues from different disciplines and backgrounds to solve meaningful challenges together. The team’s mission is to safeguard operational continuity, reduce cyber risk, and enable secure innovation across both IT and OT environments.
Role Summary:
We are looking for an OT Security Advisor who is motivated to help strengthen cybersecurity across industrial and operational environments. In this role, you will help protect critical OT assets, improve resilience in manufacturing and plant-related systems, and contribute to the secure operation of industrial technologies in a complex enterprise setting.
You will work closely with engineering, plant operations, IT security, and external partners to embed security into OT environments, manage risk pragmatically, and support compliance with relevant industry and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values collaboration, continuous learning, and practical impact, and who wants to contribute in an environment where different perspectives and experiences are welcomed.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct OT risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and define practical mitigation strategies for industrial environments
Support the design and implementation of secure OT architectures, including segmentation, remote access controls, monitoring, and defence-in-depth measures
Develop and improve OT-focused incident response and crisis management capabilities, including exercises, planning, and preparedness activities
Help ensure alignment with relevant frameworks and regulations such as IEC 62443, NIS2, and ISO 27001
Support the deployment and effective use of OT security technologies such as IDS/IPS, monitoring platforms, endpoint protection, and asset visibility solutions
Act as a trusted OT security partner for plant, engineering, and operational stakeholders, helping teams make informed and secure decisions
Translate complex technical risks into clear, practical guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences
Promote OT security awareness and good practices across operational teams and supporting functions
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to strengthen standards, consistency, and shared best practices across OT environments
Contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement of OT security maturity across the organisation
Qualifications & Skills:
Qualifications
Experience in OT security, industrial cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, or a closely related field
Experience working with multiple technical and operational stakeholders in complex environments
Experience supporting or securing industrial control systems, plant environments, or operational technologies in production, industrial, or enterprise settings
We welcome candidates from non-traditional career paths and those with transferable skills or equivalent practical experience. If you meet many of the requirements but not every single one, we still encourage you to apply. We value potential, curiosity, continuous learning, and the perspectives that come from different professional and personal experiences.
Core Technical Skills
Good understanding of industrial control systems, SCADA environments, PLCs, and OT communication protocols
Knowledge of OT network security, segmentation, secure remote access, and monitoring approaches
Experience with vulnerability assessment, security monitoring, and risk reduction in OT environments
Familiarity with frameworks and regulations such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIS2, and related governance requirements
Understanding of how OT environments integrate with enterprise IT, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure
Communication & Leadership Skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences
Ability to build strong working relationships and positively influence stakeholders across different functions
Collaborative mindset with an interest in coaching, awareness building, and continuous learning
Pragmatic problem-solving approach with the ability to balance security, operational continuity, and business needs while working inclusively with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with OT incident response, tabletop exercises, and crisis management processes
Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial environments and associated operational constraints
Experience working with OT security tools, asset visibility platforms, or industrial monitoring technologies
Certifications (Optional)
GICSP, CISSP, ISA/IEC 62443 certifications, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent security certifications
