Scaling globally, we are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Head of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering to join our remote team.
Your New Role:
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Head of DevOps and SRE to lead and scale our existing team. This role requires a unique blend of leadership and hands-on technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing teams and projects, while also actively contributing to the technical work, staying deeply involved in the engineering challenges, and leading by example.
You will play a pivotal role in driving our infrastructure strategy, optimizing our delivery pipelines, and ensuring our systems' reliability, security, and performance at scale. Your ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in day-to-day technical tasks will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of DevOps and SRE engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Technical Leadership: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure. Provide hands-on support during incidents, offer architectural guidance, and stay updated on industry trends. Ensure production stability through best practices in monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery. Drive automation and enhance security, including SOC2 certification.

Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute the DevOps and SRE strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives, focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement infrastructure requirements and standards. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, scalability, and efficiency.

Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main contact for DevOps and SRE matters, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and partner with product management and engineering to influence the development of new features and capabilities from an operational perspective.
Job requirements
To be successful in this role you need the following:
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing DevOps/SRE teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform (preferred), Ansible).
- Strong background in system architecture, networking, security, and database management, with the ability to dive deep into technical details when necessary.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of modern infrastructure technologies and best practices, with a strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and reliability.
- Expertise in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and incident management processes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools.
- Experience in coding and automation in languages/technologies such as Node.js, Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
- Solid understanding of common software architectures (e.g., microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems) and their operational implications.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on team growth and development.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
