Senior Software Engineer

Time by Ping (TBP) is in the business of returning time.

We believe more time is wasted at work than anything else we do—and we are going to fix that. We’re beginning by automating timekeeping for the world’s largest enterprises (where time = money) and then using that time data to transform the way these industries price their services, and ultimately, get work done. From there, we plan on being the system of time inventory for all knowledge work. If you use a machine to work, we want TBP to help you understand where you are spending your most valuable asset—your time.

We all waste a staggering amount of time (~33%) because we have no idea where we are spending it. Worst yet, we continue to operate within a factory model that simply does not apply to creative work. Our big bet is that by understanding time, we’ll be able to move away from it as a unit of value. In the future knowledge economy (lawyers, accountants, engineers), we will be assessed for the value they add, not the underlying time spent adding it.

Ambitious mission to say the least, so where are we starting? We have created a new market category called Time Automation that automates the timekeeping process for professionals and allows us to collect time data at scale. Before TBP, professionals had to manually record every six-minutes of their day into antiquated timekeeping software. Not anymore.

We are a Series A company (+$20M in venture capital from Tier 1 funds) that has assembled some of the best builders, designers, and product minds in tech — and we all have one thing in common: we are deeply motivated by our mission to return time.

We need to find like-minded colleagues who want to join us on our journey and are willing to spend their time solving time. It will be a long road but if we’re even half right, we’ll change the way work is measured and performed forever.

What’re we looking for specifically? We need an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for our desktop applications and backend services that include: core user experience, core business logic, data pipeline, persistence, and ML analytics. You will solve high-level customer challenges with your designs and solutions—and your technical expertise will be critical to ensure we prioritize and build the right things at a standard of quality that transforms trillion-dollar industries.
