We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and support engineers across 3-4 product teams working on interconnected areas. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Bartosz, our VP of Engineering, to guide the team in delivering high-quality software while maintaining a collaborative, high-performance culture. You'll balance speed and quality to deliver impactful results.

As an Engineering Manager, you will guide engineers across multiple product teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. You’ll focus on:

Team performance: Drive improvements in lead time for changes, ensuring high code quality, and minimizing change failure rates.

Collaboration & development: Mentor your team, actively supporting new members and fostering customer-oriented engineering culture.

Business impact: Ensure technical changes align with product goals and user needs, collaborating closely with VP of Engineering to define the technical direction.

Initiative & growth: Lead process improvements, encourage proactive problem-solving, and foster continuous learning within your team.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced leader who has successfully scaled engineering teams at a large product company, ideally in the SaaS space. You should have a track record of actively building a culture of quality, accountability, and high performance. You will be someone who has experience in managing multiple teams and driving impactful technical initiatives. This is a role where you will directly influence the growth and success of the engineering team and collaborate closely with product and leadership teams to align technology with business goals.
Requirements:

Experience in scaling teams: Strong experience in managing engineering teams at scale, especially in a product-focused environment, ideally SaaS.

Culture of quality & delivery: Proven experience in establishing and maintaining a culture of quality, ownership, and delivering results consistently.

Leadership in high-impact projects: Ability to lead complex, high-impact projects from ideation to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely execution.

Technical leadership: Deep technical expertise and the ability to make high-level decisions on architecture, performance, and scalability.

Cross-functional collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work closely with product management, design, and other teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.

People management: Experience in mentoring and developing engineers, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and accountability.

Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
Technical Expertise:

Web technologies: Strong experience with web technologies: backend, frontend or fullstack. Our tech stack includes mainly JavaScript (React, Node.js) and Go, but you don’t need to excel in all of them.

System design: Expertise in building scalable and reliable systems, with knowledge of microservices and cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker).

Quality standards: Ensure high engineering standards in code quality, test coverage, and documentation. Maintain modern software engineering practices across the team.

Architecture: Lead efforts in designing fault-tolerant systems and optimizing infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
Leadership & Management:

Mentorship: Provide actionable feedback to support the growth of junior and mid-level engineers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Cross-functional collaboration: Align engineering efforts with product goals. Facilitate effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Work directly with Bartosz (VP of Engineering) to shape technical direction.
