Job Overview

We are seeking a self-sufficient and motivated Data Engineer to join our team, focusing on data migration projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data migration, ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes, and working with various data platforms. This role requires someone who can take ownership of tasks, communicate effectively, attention to detail, and has a keen eye for problem-solving.

Your responsibilities:

1. Plan, execute, and manage data migration projects.
2. Communicate progress, risks and blockers clearly.
3. Develop and maintain ETL processes, including data loading, and change data capture (CDC) mechanisms.
4. Monitor and troubleshoot migration performance, e.g., scalability and speed.
5. Develop scripts in SQL / Python to automate data processes, integrate data from various sources, and support data analytics and reporting.
6. Ensure data security, quality, and governance policies are adhered to across all platforms.
7. Validate design solutions meet business requirements.
8. Design, document, maintain, and implement data models, data flows, and transformations.
9. Develop and execute unit tests to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver successful data solutions.

Requirements:

1. Hands-on experience delivering multiple projects in a Data Engineering role
2. Demonstrated expertise in data migration, system integration, and ETL workflows
3. Advanced skills in SQL and Python for data manipulation and transformation
4. Practical experience with industry-standard ETL tools
5. Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
