Applied Data Scientist

A global technology-driven organization is expanding its Digital Innovation function and is looking for an Applied Data Scientist to design intelligent systems supporting complex commercial and operational decisions. This is a hands-on Python role focused on building analytical models, optimisation logic and robust data pipelines. You will work with real operational data and turn complex business problems into scalable algorithms and production-ready solutions. Your work will directly power core internal systems used by operational and commercial teams. You will collaborate closely with engineers and platform specialists while contributing to the development of next-generation analytical capabilities.

Key areas of work:

• Optimization & Decision Systems - design algorithms and optimisation models using OR-Tools or similar frameworks, translating business constraints into automated decision logic

• Pricing & Analytical Modelling - build pricing models and analyse transaction and market data to support commercial decisions

• Data Pipelines & Analytical Infrastructure - develop data workflows that collect, clean and integrate data from multiple internal systems

• Collaboration & Delivery -work with engineers to turn analytical prototypes into production-ready solutions and communicate insights to stakeholders

Your skills:

• 5+ years of experience working with Python in data or analytical environments (Pandas, NumPy)

• Strong Python engineering skills – writing clean, production-quality code

• Experience building data pipelines and working with messy real-world datasets from multiple source systems

• Experience designing optimisation models or solving constraint problems using OR-Tools or similar frameworks

• Ability to translate raw data into analytical insights, validated hypotheses, and production-ready logic

• Ability to clearly communicate analytical reasoning to non-technical stakeholders
