For our client, a leading innovator in the technology and electronics industry, we are seeking a Principal Architect.

This project aims to connect brands with TV audiences by building a cutting-edge advertising platform using machine learning algorithms to enhance targeting, personalization, and optimization. The goal is to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time, resulting in higher engagement and conversion rates.

Your role

Build and grow a high-performing architecture team

Define, maintain, and clearly articulate the core architectural principles guiding all engineering efforts

Design comprehensive technical frameworks for the platform, including application architecture, APIs, microservices, backend data workflows, and reporting systems

Collaboratively architect new features and system components based on business and internal needs, balancing strategic direction with team-driven input

Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on peer architectural proposals and system designs

Continuously assess and improve system architecture by identifying gaps between current and ideal states, reworking components to enhance scalability, performance, and support for future growth—this includes migration planning and change management

Research and assess leading technologies to support architectural decisions, especially around build-vs-buy choices and return-on-investment considerations

Keep architectural documentation current, clearly outlining components, data flows, and interdependencies

Serve as an advisor to engineering teams during development, helping guide implementation decisions and evaluating architectural alignment

Support testing and productization efforts, ensuring that solutions align with architectural goals and meet defined acceptance criteria

Provide technical insight and guidance to non-engineering stakeholders—such as product managers, privacy teams, and governance—regarding system and data behavior

Engage in internal knowledge-sharing and training sessions to enhance team understanding of architectural best practices and existing platform components

Requirements

Over 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in leadership roles such as Principal Engineer, CTO, or Architect

At least 3 years of prior or concurrent hands-on experience as a software engineer, proficient in a minimum of two programming languages like Golang, Java, Python, Rust, C/C++, or equivalent

Deep understanding of core computer science principles, including hardware, operating systems, software development, data structures, and networking

Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in team development, mentorship, talent nurturing, and creating an engaging, technically driven work environment

Track record of designing and building architectural solutions for large-scale, global platforms

Strong communication skills in English, capable of bridging the gap between technical detail and product-level strategy; knowledge of French is a plus

Skilled in presenting ideas and gaining alignment through various formats—written documentation, diagrams, in-person and remote presentations—occasionally requiring travel between offices

Direct experience with traditional software development life cycles

Practical familiarity with modern development tools and processes such as version control, code review, continuous integration, and continuous deployment

Recognized for improving existing systems, challenging conventions, and driving innovation

Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to solve problems efficiently and manage priorities in dynamic settings

Comfortable working independently and juggling multiple responsibilities in a fast-moving environment
