Job description

We are building a financial platform that will research and run systematic trading strategies.

We collaborate with the quant team on strategies research, risk modeling, and portfolio optimizations. Our software engineering team embeds the corresponding logic into the platform.

Similar systems already exist on the market, but quants need to use several of them to research and run trading strategies. Our client’s idea is to build a system that can do it all.

Client: Several quants with 15+ years of Wall Street experience.

Team: 15+ people divided into independent sub-teams. These are Backend Software Engineers, Frontend Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Team Leads, Project Manager, QA Lead, and SDET.

Project’s Stack

Frontend: Material UI, React, Jest.

Backend (Microservices): Kotlin, Groovy, Micronaut, Spock, Python, Dagster, Flask, Locust, FastAPI, Pytest, Pandas, NumPy, SQLAIchemy.

Databases: PostgreSQL.

Infrastructure/pipelines: AWS, Terraform, Terraspace, Docker, GitHub Actions.

What a DevOps Engineer will do:

  • Design and implement new infrastructure solutions using AWS services,

  • Lead the SRE team and manage its backlog,

  • Set and internalize cloud security best practices in the team,

  • Propose, discus, and drive architectural decisions through to implementation,

  • Explain complex and abstract ideas in a clear audience-oriented manner using verbal and written form in English,

  • When necessary, write scripts.

What we expect from a DevOps Engineer:

  • 7+ years of experience in total working with non-structural input: analyzing the requirement and single-handedly deciding how to solve it,

  • At least 4 years in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions using AWS services,

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Software Engineer working with any programming language,

  • At least Upper-Intermediate English level,

  • Ability to set and internalize cloud security best practices in the teams,

  • You can be available until 8 PM (CET) at least two times a week, as we work with a client from the USA. However, you have the flexibility to manage your working hours around this requirement.

Will be a plus:

  • You have knowledge in FinTech,

  • Experience in using Terraform for cloud resource management.

We offer:

  1. Direct influence on the product. Your ideas and contributions shape the roadmap and outcomes.

  2. Collaboration with experienced Wall Street professionals. Gain insights and grow alongside domain experts.

  3. Lean processes, minimal overhead. Focus on delivering value, not navigating bureaucracy.

  4. Small, agile teams. Work closely with talented peers in a high-impact environment.

  5. B2B employment model with:

20 paid workdays off per year

    3 paid sick days

  6. Ongoing education through Syberry Academy. Develop your skills with company-supported learning opportunities.

  7. Remote-friendly culture. Choose the setup that works best for you: fully remote, hybrid, or in-office.

  8. Team and corporate events. We value connection and fun, with regular team-building and company-wide celebrations.

  9. Financial support for key life events. Because we care about you beyond the job.
