Job description

As a junior IT Security Specialist, you and the team will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of our company’s IT systems and data. You will work closely with other members of the Sweco IT to ensure that all security protocols and procedures are followed.


You will be part of a team that has a strong culture of helping each other, collaboration, and striving for improvements. Junior IT Security Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and management of security measures to protect our IT infrastructure, networks, and systems from cyber-attacks, fraud, and other security breaches.

  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents and respond to security alerts and notifications.

  • Assist in conducting security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess risk levels.

  • Assist in developing and implement security policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed by all employees.

  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure that all software and hardware are up to date with the latest security patches and updates.

  • Stay up to date with the latest IT security trends, threats, and best practices.


About you:

To be successful in the role as junior IT security specialist, we believe you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You communicate in an efficient way at different levels and can explain complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.


Requirements:

  • Interest in IT-Security and a willingness to learn.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex information into practical solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

  • Familiarity with, and experience of working with security software and tools, including firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners.

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and protocols.

  • Experience from working in a global organisation with remote and geographically spread colleagues.

  • Fluent in English.
