MySQL Database Engineer
We are looking for a database expert who speaks fluent MySQL and loves finding clever ways to make databases faster, more reliable and more efficient. If performance tuning and system optimization excites you, you will enjoy this very much. You will work hands-on with MySQL, Redshift and a mix of open-source and cloud technologies to boost the speed, reliability and future-readiness of our infrastructure.
Job description:
- Design, build, and manage both on-prem and cloud database environments (yep, you get to flex in both worlds).
- Optimize performance, security, and availability across large-scale systems.
- Collaborate with service operations to prototype and deliver rock-solid solutions.
- Automate repetitive tasks using Python or Shell scripting (we’re big fans of working smarter).
- Define and champion best practices across MySQL, Redshift, and PostgreSQL.
- Stay ahead of the curve with emerging cloud and open-source tech.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in designing, administering, and tuning critical database systems.
- Deep MySQL expertise—bonus points if you've also played with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar.
- Strong command of Linux for database support.
- Solid scripting skills in Shell or Python.
- Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- A growth mindset—you’re curious, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins.
