The Opportunity

We are looking for a Lead Python Engineer to join our Data Science team and help create cutting-edge solutions for our Marketing Intelligence Engine Platform. The ideal candidate would have hands-on experience implementing solutions in a modern architecture stack. They should enjoy working in a startup-like environment and be able to function well independently or in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

Qualifications and experience:

• Willingness to lead by example, take personal ownership and strong commitment to deliver high-quality results to meet customer’s needs;
• Possessing a team spirit attitude, desire to help someone needing a help, share knowledge and relevant insights;
• 5+ years of commercial experience in software development with Python;
• Familiarity with Python 'data stack' (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn);
• Familiarity with one or more machine learning technologies: (XGBoost, Tensorflow, Keras);
• Some experience developing APIs within a web framework such as Flask/ Django/ Ruby on Rails preferred;
• Good understanding of SQL/RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL);
• Experience with general development best practices: Git, Test-driven development;
• Showing a global mindset and respect towards local as well as diversity and inclusion;
• Sound written, oral, and organizational skills; 
• Go-getter mindset - willing to take initiative to solve problems without prompting by supervisors.

Nice to have:

• Background in data engineering and machine learning models;
• Any exposure to marketing mix modeling, digital attribution modeling a plus;
• Cloud-based deployment experience Docker/Heroku a plus;
• Any familiarity with AWS managed services is a plus; and
• Comfortable developing in Linux environments preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• You'll be able to adopt the best engineering practices, which should help the team operate better and implement high-quality code;
• Hands-on development. Design and write clean, robust, well-tested code;
• Develop extensible architectures and frameworks, for others to leverage;
• Perform research and development to evaluate new technologies, ideas and communicate value for the company;
• Become an expert in the underlying Machine Learning solutions that the team develops, configuring/extending them as necessary;
• Build data-pipelines that allow the platform to interact with various internal and external APIs and data stores; 
• Document solutions, systems, and procedures.
