Software Development Team Leader

For our internal client we are looking leadership driven Software Development Team Leader who will build and guide a high performing development team delivering modern enterprise applications in a global Automotive environment. Form of employment - directly on the customers site/by customer.

This role is first and foremost about people leadership, software development culture, and delivery ownership. You will empower developers, define software development direction, and ensure scalable and secure solutions across web platforms, cloud ecosystems, and AI initiatives.

What You Will Do

Software Development Leadership, Team Development is a key 

• Lead and grow an international team of software engineers and external partners

• Build competencies, mentor team members, and support career development

• Drive collaboration, ownership mindset, and engineering excellence

• Plan resources and optimize team capacity

• Create a transparent and feedback driven team culture

Software Architecture

• Define and evolve technical direction and architecture

• Promote secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles

• Ensure effective planning, prioritization, and delivery governance

Web and Cloud applications development

• Oversee development of web platforms for internal users, customers, and partners

• Work with modern web technologies and API driven architecture

• Guide cloud adoption (Azure preferred, AWS as alternative)

• Support scalable integration patterns and enterprise-grade solutions

Application of AI, Data Innovations

• Identify and prioritize AI driven opportunities together with the AI Competence Center

• Ensure alignment with EU AI Act and ISO 27001 information security standards

Stakeholder, Vendor Collaboration

• Work closely with production, procurement, finance, quality, and IT security teams

• Translate business goals into technical epics and delivery plans

• Manage vendors, SLAs, KPIs, and delivery performance

Compliance, Governance

• Support development aligned with IATF 16949 and TISAX / ISO 27001

• Ensure traceability, audit readiness, and structured change processes

Enterprise Integration (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA ecosystem (ABAP OO, CDS, OData, Fiori/UI5) is beneficial

• Knowledge of SAP BTP Integration Suite or enterprise integrations is an advantage

What We Are Looking For

Required

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or software development leadership

• 3+ years in a leadership role (Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead)

• Strong people leadership and stakeholder communication skills

• Experience with modern web development, APIs, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS)

• DevSecOps mindset and secure development practices (OWASP Top 10)

• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or enterprise ERP environments

• Automotive or manufacturing industry exposure

• Certifications: Scrum, Cloud (Azure/AWS), SAP, ISO27001/TISAX

• Backend: Java/Spring Boot or .NET

• Frontend: React or Angular

• Databases: SAP HANA, SQL, NoSQL

• Integration: REST, Event-driven architecture, API Management

• Security: OAuth2/OIDC, Secrets Management, Vulnerability Management
