Senior Project Manager

Experience:

• Knowledge of indirect tax processes, including sales and use tax compliance

• Understanding of ERP financial modules and enterprise integration frameworks

• Experience working within large enterprise IT landscapes and complex system environments

• Familiarity with regulatory, compliance-driven, and governance-focused projects

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT Project or Program Management leading complex enterprise initiatives

• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches

• Proven experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and integrated dependencies

• Solid background in risk and issue management frameworks

• Demonstrated expertise in financial governance, forecasting, budgeting, and executive-level reporting (including SteerCo and dashboard reporting)

• Experience operating within structured PMO environments with established governance and delivery standards

• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification preferred

Requirements:

• Proven track record of leading ERP transformation or enterprise integration initiatives, preferably within Oracle R12 environments

• Strong expertise in financial systems and transactional system integrations

• Hands-on experience with tax engine implementations or migration projects, with Vertex knowledge considered a strong advantage

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder, and geographically distributed projects

• Solid understanding of enterprise integrations, data flows, and system dependencies across large-scale platforms

• Experience managing external vendors, implementation partners, and system integrators

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting capabilities

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within high-complexity environments

Nice to have:

• Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow

Project description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a large-scale enterprise initiative focused on ERP transformation and tax system integration. This role requires full ownership of project delivery, including governance oversight, stakeholder engagement, and financial management, while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, processes, and compliance requirements.

Location: USCA preferred; EMEA acceptable

Main responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the complete project lifecycle, from initiation through deployment and post-go-live stabilization

• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, and dependency tracking across ERP and tax-related systems

• Take responsibility for project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost monitoring, and variance management

• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery

• Lead change management activities by evaluating impacts on scope, schedule, and project costs

• Coordinate collaboration across cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, ERP teams, integration partners, and external vendors

• Establish effective governance structures, reporting cadences, and executive-level communication channels

• Ensure compliance with PMO methodologies, audit standards, and project documentation requirements

• Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment across senior leadership teams and third-party partners

• Oversee testing coordination, cutover planning, deployment readiness, and implementation activities
