Senior DevOps Engineer (Network Automation)

Project description

Our customer is a leading German producer of customized solutions for the self-supply of solar-powered electricity. This includes photovoltaic, energy storage systems as well as cloud technology systems helping individuals to become energetically independent.

Please note that this position involves occasional on-call duty to resolve potential customer-critical incidents.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop, operate, and administer a highly scalable hybrid multicloud network architecture.
• Automate the network deployment process in a hybrid multicloud environment.
• Create Terraform modules to facilitate the configuration of network devices.
• Monitor the entire IP infrastructure, including LAN and WAN topologies.
• Coordinate and resolve network issues.
• Work closely with development teams and architects to standardize deployment pipelines, tests and infrastructure.
• Enhance IT security and governance to create ISMS-compliant reports.
• Manage and automate firewall rules, perform firmware updates for security-critical patches, and ensure consistent routing and access control according to NIS2.
• Stabilize network communication through dynamic routing and interconnect data centers, server systems and partner infrastructures.

Required skills:

• At least 3 years of experience in infrastructure automation with tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• At least 2 years of experience with cloud environments and services, particularly Azure and AWS.
• Experience with VPN technologies such as IPsec, OpenVPN, and WireGuard.
• Knowledge and experience with the Azure Hub and Spoke model.
• At least 3 years of experience with Layer-3 switching technologies like routing, RIP, OSPF, BGP, DHCP and VRRP.
• Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) in Azure.
• At least 3 years of experience with firewall technologies like Fortigate, Firewalld, iptables or OPNsense.
• Experience with scripting in Linux, particularly with Python and Bash.
