Android Automotive OS Platform Engineer

📌 Project Overview

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Android Automotive OS (AAOS) expert with deep knowledge of the Android platform and system architecture.

The main objective is to adapt and integrate Android Automotive OS on a new SoC, enabling various internal teams to start development and testing on this new platform.This is not an application-level role. The client is explicitly looking for someone focused on system-level Android, including boot time optimization, system configuration, and low-level customization.

🛠️ Responsibilities

- Android system bring-up and adaptation for a new SoC

- Development and maintenance of system-level components (e.g., System Services, HAL)

- Boot time optimization and low-level system tuning

- Troubleshooting and debugging system-level issues

- Technical advisory and architecture-level consulting for AAOS platform customization

- Communicating architecture and technical decisions to both management and technical stakeholders

✅ Requirements

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Android OS at the platform/system level

- Deep understanding of Android Automotive OS (AAOS), AOSP, and Android architecture

- Experience with BSPs, bootloader, init system, HALs, and kernel-level components

- Proficiency in system debugging tools 

- Proven track record of working on Android bring-up and SoC integration

- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

🎯 Nice to have

- Experience with boot time optimization and startup performance

- Familiarity with Automotive Grade Linux or embedded automotive platforms

- You will work as a standalone expert, with direct communication with the client
