Data Protection Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Consolidate and interpret data residency requirements, translating business needs into technical infrastructure and security specifications.

• Perform high-level inventory and assessment of existing Azure infrastructure and IAM services relevant to data residency.

• Evaluate current monitoring and logging capabilities to ensure compliance with data residency obligations.

• Document findings, conduct gap analysis, and provide remediation recommendations.

• Design a standardized Service Catalog for Data Residency services under the IaaS model.

• Define monitoring and reporting mechanisms that support residency compliance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to align the proposed models and ensure consistency across teams.

• Review the existing architecture and deployment of the Azure-based data platform (including Databricks).

• Define, implement, and configure key security controls within the Azure environment.

• Support the enhancement of data protection measures based on best practices and compliance requirements.

  
  

Skills:

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and its security architecture.

• Experience working on security consulting projects for large or international organizations.

• Solid understanding of data security principles, compliance frameworks, and mitigation strategies.

• Experience with MS Purview configuration and usage (nice to have).

• Experience with Data Platform security (e.g., Databricks, data lakes, pipelines) is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and interface with customer teams.

• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience designing or implementing data governance and data residency frameworks.

• Familiarity with IAM frameworks, monitoring tools, SIEM/SOAR solutions, and Azure-native security services.

• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements affecting cloud data residency.
