Azure FinOps Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Track Azure consumption and costs, highlighting optimization opportunities such as rightsizing, commitment plans, and efficient cloud usage.

• Improve and oversee cost efficiency for Azure services, including advanced AI workloads like Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning.

• Create and maintain cloud cost forecasts, budgets, dashboards, and reports for both technical and financial audiences.

• Establish and maintain cost governance practices, including tagging standards, spend controls, and reserved instance management.

• Ensure high-quality, accurate billing and usage data to support audits and internal reporting.

• Translate business needs into analytical tasks, performing data querying, manipulation, and analysis.

• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Finance teams to align cloud consumption with business and financial objectives.

Skills:

• Experience as a Data or FinOps Analyst in a cloud environment (preferably Azure).

• Strong proficiency with Azure Cost Management and Billing, Power BI, and other FinOps-related tools.

• Demonstrated ability to identify cost optimizations and improve spending efficiency across Azure services, including AI/ML workloads.

• Experience managing cloud cost forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

• Understanding of cloud financial governance: tagging, reserved instances, chargeback/showback models.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to data accuracy and compliance.
