Performance Engineer – Low Latency Trading Systems

One of our core strategic areas is the continuous monitoring and improvement of latency within trading systems — both internal components and external exchange connectivity.

Performance optimization in low-latency trading is a highly complex, multi-layered challenge involving infrastructure, hardware, operating systems, networking, software architecture, and deep instrumentation.

We are looking for a Performance Engineer who will take a holistic approach to performance management and latency optimization across our technology ecosystem.

If you have strong expertise in at least several of the areas listed below, we would love to hear from you. We fully understand that no one is an expert in everything.

Key Responsibilities

• Instrument trading systems and infrastructure to collect meaningful performance and latency metrics

• Continuously analyze collected data to identify and prioritize the highest-impact optimization opportunities

• Optimize end-to-end latency across software, infrastructure, and exchange connectivity layers

• Conduct deep profiling, micro-benchmarking, and performance diagnostics

• Collaborate with trading and engineering teams to implement measurable performance improvements

Required / Desired Expertise

You should feel confident in several of the following areas:

Systems & Hardware

• Linux tuning for low-latency workloads

• Hardware-level performance tuning

• Strong understanding of modern CPU architecture:

  • Multicore systems

  • Memory hierarchy (RAM, L1/L2/L3 caches)

  • Execution pipelines

  • Instruction sets

  • SIMD and vectorization

• Micro-benchmarking and performance profiling

• Proficiency with perf and interpretation of its output

Networking

• High-performance networking concepts

• Kernel bypass technologies

• NIC and network hardware tuning

• Optimization of exchange connectivity

• Experience with exchange protocols:

  • Binary protocols (traditional exchanges)

  • WebSocket / JSON (crypto exchanges)

Software Performance Engineering

• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures with performance focus

• Compiler-level optimization awareness

• Ability to combine high-level languages with low-level performance-critical components

  • e.g., replacing networking or protocol layers in .NET with specialized C/C++/Rust modules

• Strong experience in C# performance optimization (modern .NET, ideally .NET 10)

Cloud Infrastructure

• Performance optimization in cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

• Minimizing exchange access latency

• Tuning cloud VM parameters for low-latency workloads
