Technical Lead – Platform and Tooling team

We are supporting a long-term project for a major EU public-sector organization, and we are currently looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join the Platform & Tooling team.

Project & Role Overview:

As a Technical Lead, you will drive the evolution of internal platforms and engineering tools used across the entire EU organization.

You will lead a team of experts, define technical standards, introduce new technologies, run PoCs, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.

This role requires an ownership mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of platform engineering, automation, cloud, and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

• Evaluate, select, and introduce new technologies to improve internal platforms and services.

• Lead Proof-of-Concept initiatives for emerging technologies.

• Establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices for the Platform & Tooling team.

• Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of internal platforms, tools, and services.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of technical subject matter experts.

• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

• Define objectives, provide constructive feedback, and drive professional development.

• Prioritize workload and align team activities with strategic goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to prioritize features and improvements.

• Collaborate with architects, Service Owners, and cross-functional teams.

• Maintain strong relationships with internal customers and gather feedback.

Continuous Improvement:

• Increase automation and self-service capabilities to improve team productivity.

• Promote SRE and GitOps best practices across platform teams.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years as a Technical Lead, preferably in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure domains.

• Kubernetes & containerization

• On‑premise + hybrid cloud environments

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

• GitOps (GitLab, ArgoCD, Cycloid)

• CI/CD pipelines

• API integration and design

• SRE practices

• Virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix or similar)

• Infrastructure services (network, storage, compute, databases)

• Monitoring & observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)

• Strong understanding of security and compliance

Other Requirements:

• EU citizenship — mandatory

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields (Master’s is a plus)

• English min. C1 in speech and writing, every additional European language will be a plus.

• Openness to obtaining a Security Certificate. Secret level.

Offer & Conditions:

• Type of contract: B2B

• Rate: up to 530-550 EUR/day

• Model: Remote + 1 monthly trip to Luxembourg (2–3 days)

• Duration: Long-term project

• Workload: Full-time
