We are looking for a Software Asset Manager (SAM) to join our client’s team - ensuring license compliance, optimizing costs, and managing risks related to software agreements. The role is central to enabling client to use, configure, and manage its software licenses in a structured and cost-efficient way.
Important: This role covers software only – no hardware management.
Who We Are Looking For:
• Senior professional profile who can work independently and be the “go-to” person for SAM-related matters.
• Strong background in Software Asset Management, license management, and compliance.
• Solid knowledge of major software vendors’ licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.).
• Experience working with global stakeholders and multicultural teams.
• Comfortable analyzing license data, drawing conclusions, and giving clear recommendations.
• Used to working in a data-driven and results-oriented way, ideally with established KPIs for compliance and cost savings.
• Meriting: Experience with SAM tools such as SAM Pro, FlexeraOne, FNMS, or Snow.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with IT, procurement, and finance.
• Ability to contribute strategically to the development of SAM processes and increase the organization’s maturity in this area.
• English: B2+/C1+
Key Responsibilities:
Software Asset Management & License Compliance
• Ensure that client has the right licenses for the right users, complies with all licensing terms, and avoids compliance risks.
• Contribute to increasing SAM maturity in the organization by improving processes, routines, and standards.
Contract Management & Optimization
• Manage 20–50 new software contracts (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, VMware).
• Optimize usage, costs, and contract terms – identify and realize cost savings.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance to secure the best possible agreements.
Data-Driven Approach
• Work proactively with data to answer key questions:
_Where are our licenses? Do we have them? Are they being used optimally?
• Identify improvement opportunities, propose optimization actions, and follow up on results.
• Produce quarterly reports on compliance, usage, and savings.
Stakeholder Support
• Support internal stakeholders (business stakeholders, product owners, service owners).
• Provide recommendations that help client make strategic decisions regarding the software portfolio.
• Explain complex licensing issues in a clear way to non-technical decision-makers.
Governance & Reporting
• Report compliance status, cost tracking, and optimization results to management and stakeholders.
• Contribute to building a clear and standardized reporting structure.
Vendor Interaction
• Act as the main contact during external audits and ensure client is fully prepared.
• Maintain strong relationships with software vendors and stay updated on changes to their licensing models.
Work Environment & Expectations:
• The team consists of approx. 12 people in Sweden, Poland, and India.
• The role requires a self-driven, senior professional who can deliver without micromanagement.
• You are expected to quickly take ownership, contribute improvements, and drive results.
• You will join an experienced, professional team with strong expertise in SAM and Business Support.
