Security Network Consultant (m/f/n)

We are looking for a candidate for the position of Security Network Consultant (m/f/n) to join a long-term EU security project supporting critical systems used across European countries

The role focuses on the design, testing and implementation of secure network infrastructures, including large-scale encryption systems, within highly secured EU environments. The role requires relocation to Diegem (Belgium).

Responsibilities:

Network & Security Analysis

• Review and assess customer network and security capabilities

• Perform in-depth analysis of security posture

• Map data flows and system interactions

Lab & System Administration

• Design and build advanced Proof-of-Concept (PoC) environments

• Maintain and optimize lab infrastructure

• Manage troubleshooting and complex environments independently

Testing & Automation

• Test and validate new architectures and solutions

• Design and implement automation for testing and provisioning

• Drive improvements in operational processes and documentation

Deployment & Migrations

• Lead staging, rollout, and pre-provisioning processes

• Guide and support customers during migrations

• Provide higher-level support for deployed solutions

Documentation & Coordination

• Create and maintain detailed operational procedures

• Produce activity, test, and technical reports

• Coordinate with vendors, partners, and stakeholders

• Gather and manage legal, business, and technical requirements

Advisory & Design

• Act as a trusted technical advisor on networking and security topics

• Support design and integration of encryption architecture

• Ensure compliance with high security standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the security domain

• Strong knowledge of networking and network security

• Experience with secure infrastructure and distributed systems

• Hands-on experience with Linux and system configuration

• Experience with scripting (Bash/Python) and automation (Ansible or similar)

• Experience in deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure

• Relevant degree (Engineering / IT / Computer Science) or equivalent experience

• Strong analytical thinking and ownership mindset

• Ability to work independently and take responsibility

• Fluent English (C1), preferably Dutch/Flemish

• On-site work required (Diegem office & lab)

• Eligible for EU Secret security clearance
