Junior Security Network Consultant (m/f/n)

We are looking for a Junior Security Network Consultant (m/f/n) to join a long-term EU security project supporting critical systems used across European countries.

This role is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career in cybersecurity who wants to gain hands-on experience in a highly secure, large-scale EU environment. You'll be focusing on supporting the design, testing, and implementation of secure network infrastructures, including large-scale encryption systems, within highly secured EU environments.

The role requires relocation to Diegem (Belgium).

Responsibilities:

• Support analysis of customer network and security environments

• Assist in mapping data flows and processes

• Build and support Proof-of-Concept (PoC) environments

• Set up, adapt and maintain lab infrastructure

• Perform day-to-day lab operations and troubleshooting

• Support testing and troubleshooting of systems and architectures

• Assist in the automation of security infrastructure testing

• Help update operational procedures and documentation

• Support staging and pre-provisioning processes

• Support rollout, staging and pre-provisioning

• Assist during customer migrations

• Provide support for deployed solutions

• Prepare documentation and support operational processes

• Collaborate with senior consultants and vendors

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience

• Master’s degree in IT / Engineering / Computer Science (or equivalent)

• Basic knowledge of networking and network security

• Experience with Linux (CLI, basic configuration)

• Basic scripting knowledge (Bash or Python)

• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Ansible) is a plus

• Basic understanding of network infrastructure deployment

• Strong willingness to learn and develop in cybersecurity

• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

• Fluent English (C1), additional European language is a plus (e.g. Dutch/Flemish)

• On-site presence required (Diegem office & lab)

• Eligible for EU security clearance (EU citizenship)
