Junior Security Network Consultant (m/f/n)
We are looking for a Junior Security Network Consultant (m/f/n) to join a long-term EU security project supporting critical systems used across European countries.
This role is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career in cybersecurity who wants to gain hands-on experience in a highly secure, large-scale EU environment. You'll be focusing on supporting the design, testing, and implementation of secure network infrastructures, including large-scale encryption systems, within highly secured EU environments.
The role requires relocation to Diegem (Belgium).
Responsibilities:
Support analysis of customer network and security environments
Assist in mapping data flows and processes
Build and support Proof-of-Concept (PoC) environments
Set up, adapt and maintain lab infrastructure
Perform day-to-day lab operations and troubleshooting
Support testing and troubleshooting of systems and architectures
Assist in the automation of security infrastructure testing
Help update operational procedures and documentation
Support staging and pre-provisioning processes
Support rollout, staging and pre-provisioning
Assist during customer migrations
Provide support for deployed solutions
Prepare documentation and support operational processes
Collaborate with senior consultants and vendors
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience
Master’s degree in IT / Engineering / Computer Science (or equivalent)
Basic knowledge of networking and network security
Experience with Linux (CLI, basic configuration)
Basic scripting knowledge (Bash or Python)
Familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Ansible) is a plus
Basic understanding of network infrastructure deployment
Strong willingness to learn and develop in cybersecurity
Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
Fluent English (C1), additional European language is a plus (e.g. Dutch/Flemish)
On-site presence required (Diegem office & lab)
Eligible for EU security clearance (EU citizenship)
