Architect - Load Test Service
We are looking for Architect - Load Test Service to join the project for the European Union organization.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced architect to establish and guide the technical foundation for our enterprise-wide performance testing capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, evolving, and maintaining the technical architecture of the Load Testing service and ensuring architectural coherence, scalability, and alignment with our enterprise strategy.
This role will work in a squad-based model in partnership with a Service/Product Owner, DevOps engineers, and operational staff, while collaborating across the broader enterprise. The role requires balancing innovation with operational stability, managing legacy systems while planning future capabilities, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements throughout all architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Evolution
Design and maintain the technical architecture for the Load Test Service, including LoadRunner infrastructure, cloud-based testing environments, and integration points with enterprise services.
Design high availability configurations for test controllers and load injectors.
Define sizing requirements for on-premises and cloud-based test environments.
Develop and document architecture diagrams, workflows, and integration specifications.
Define and implement service design principles ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Plan and execute migration strategies for new LoadRunner versions and tool upgrades.
Assess and implement cloudification strategies (AWS, Azure, OVH) for load testing infrastructure.
Technical Standards & Governance
Ensure architectural coherence across all Load Test Service components.
Define and enforce security standards, RBAC policies, and compliance requirements.
Maintain the CMDB data model for Load Test Service configuration items.
Conduct security risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
Ensure alignment with sovereignty requirements and compliance frameworks.
Review and approve architectural decisions related to tool selection and technology stack.
Innovation & Technical Leadership
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML for test optimization, automated testing frameworks).
Conduct proof-of-concepts for new testing approaches and tools.
Provide technical guidance on extending service capabilities (API testing, regression testing, smoke testing).
Act as technical subject matter expert for Load Test Service capabilities.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Produce and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting guides.
Create workflow documentation outlining automation processes and dependencies.
Document integration patterns and best practices.
Ensure knowledge transfer within the squad and to stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work with Service Owner to align technical solutions with business requirements.
Collaborate with nfrastructure teams on environment provisioning and network configuration.
Engage with Security teams to ensure compliance with security frameworks.
Participate in Architecture Review Board governance processes.
Support feasibility studies for large, customised test requests.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of performance and load testing architectures and methodologies
Proven ability to design scalable, high-availability systems
Expert-level proficiency with LoadRunner (Professional and Enterprise editions)
Strong understanding of application performance testing tools and frameworks
Experience with cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud architectures
Proficiency in virtualisation technologies (VMware, containers, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms (Dynatrace, APM tools)
Understanding of network architecture and load distribution patterns
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
Ability to balance technical excellence with practical implementation constraints
Experience designing API-first and event-driven architectures

Requirements
EU Citizenship.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
IMPORTANT: Please note that this job would require you to initiate the process of getting a Security Clearance certificate. We will be happy to give you more details during the interview.

Remote work setup with one visit per month to the Luxembourg office (2–3 days).
Candidate rate: up to 600 EUR/day.
