The Role


We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer, experienced in varied languages and frameworks to work on a platform revolutionising how maritime industry professionals, track their vessels, match their cargoes to vessels, manage scheduling activities, are involved in trading and negotiations and digital contract management. Working with us you will become part of an international team developing digital products for the maritime industry. If you enjoy working close to infrastructure, solving integration challenges, building cross-cutting components, and enabling other teams to move faster — this team is for you.

 

Responsibilities


  • Playing an active role in development and being hands-on alongside other engineers in your team building-out our cutting-edge products.

  • Setting and shaping what good practice is across the backend ecosystem, leading technical discussions and decisions from the front and employing the right tooling and services to do the job.

  • Responsible for unit and integration testing your code as well as conducting peer reviews.

  • Delivering and maintaining internal and external integration services used by multiple teams across the company, ensuring seamless data and process flow.

  • Responsibility for the pipeline to maintain the CI/CD process.

  • Continuously improving system observability, monitoring, and incident response processes.

  • Working within an Agile framework.

  • Using Azure DevOps for backlog and repository management.

  • Effective collaboration across a multi-disciplined team, interacting with Product, Architecture, DevOps functions of the business.

  • Work in an international team - the team consists of people of different nationalities, so all communication is based on English.

  • Collaborating across a variety of business domains.

 

Requirements


  • Great understanding of English, both spoken and written. (B2+)

  • Proficiency in working with large codebases.

 

Core Skills:


  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with .NET, ecosystem and tooling.

  • Extensive experience in API design and build, both internal and externally facing.

  • Good knowledge of SQL Server databases.

  • Familiarity with the NoSql databases (e.g. CosmosDB).

  • Knowledge of authentication and authorisation at the level of client to service and service to service communication.

  • Deep knowledge of distributed, scalable application development.

  • Extensive Azure Cloud knowledge and Azure DevOps.

  • Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes and Docker.

  • Hands-on experience with building SaaS systems.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Salary: DOE 24 000 - 29 000 PLN/month (B2B) or UoP
