Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and manage a diverse team of Game developers and QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

• Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality slot games, maintaining high standards while improving our time to market

• Work closely with game designers, product managers, compliance and support teams to align game development strategies with company objectives.

• Provide mentorship, feedback, and technical guidance to the development team, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with game and math designers, art, and animation teams to ensure top-quality game products built through an optimised workflow.

• Monitor and manage development timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on track.

• Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, addressing any risks or roadblocks that could impact delivery.

• Identify and manage organisational or technical dependencies thus avoiding any blocking situations for the team

• Participate in the analysis, planning and delivery of company wide initiatives, working in collaboration with other engineering teams

Game Development & Technical Oversight

• Oversee the entire game development lifecycle, from concept to release, ensuring each project meets deadlines, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.

• Utilize expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES5/ES6), and Pixi.js to lead the development of high-performance and maintainable game features.

• Actively contribute to the game development process, working hands-on in building upcoming games and features as well as performing code reviews

• Leverage experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, Node.js and the JavaScript ecosystem (webpack, npm, yarn) to ensure that best practices are upheld

• Align the team’s approaches with the overall company guidelines to ensure consistency within the Rubyplay ecosystem 

• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to maintain a smooth development process.

• Collaborate on cross-team development tasks when needed to support game functionality.

Industry Knowledge & Innovation

• Stay up-to-date on trends and developments in the online gambling industry, ensuring RubyPlay remains competitive in its game offerings.

• Continuously assess and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance game development processes.

What Makes You A Strong Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in game development, with a strong focus on the online gambling industry.

• 2+ years of demonstrated experience leading game development teams, delivering high-quality slots or casino games.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES5/ES6), Pixi.js, and experience with Node.js, Git

• Strong understanding of OOP, Design Patterns and SOLID principles.

• Knowledge of Java or C# at a basic level is preferred, with experience in the JavaScript ecosystem tools such as webpack, npm, and yarn.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve development problems, ensuring seamless delivery of game products.

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a remote team, open to giving and receiving feedback.

• Strong problem-solving skills, result oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.

• Previous experience as a Full-Stack Developer is a plus.

• Prior experience with math development is desirable.
