Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. This role involves RM practices as well as mapping of business applications and services delivered within this area.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Applying data engineering practices and standards to develop sustainable, maintainable data pipelines
Analyzing and organizing raw data pipelines
Assessing business needs and goals
Supporting senior business stakeholders in defining new use cases for data products and identifying their value
Taking ownership of data product pipelines and their maintenance
Seeking ways to improve data quality and reliability and acting as a "Quality Gatekeeper" for the developed data products
Adapting and applying best practices from the Data One community
Continuously identifying opportunities to improve best practices and efficiency, and making specific proposals
Leading and proactively collaborating with other teams to keep projects moving forward
Demonstrating flexibility and taking on other duties within the Agile team
Requirements
Hands-on experience with Snowflake (certification will be a plus)
Previous experience as a Data Engineer
Technical expertise in data modeling techniques (Data Vault)
Advanced knowledge of ETL tools (Talend, Alteryx, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of SQL programming (Python will be a plus)
Previous experience with Agile methodologies in software development
Experience with data transformation tools such as DBT
Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices (CI/CD, GitLab, DataOps)
Knowledge of the data product lifecycle
Understanding of Data Mesh and FAIR principles
At least 2–3 years of experience in DB/ETL development (preferably Talend and DBT)
4+ years of experience with data pipeline-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
Experience working with SQL
Experience maintaining data pipelines
Experience with various data storage types and data formats
Experience in data architecture concepts
Experience in cloud technologies with a focus on data pipelines
Strong knowledge of relational databases (optional)
Strong knowledge of data serialization languages such as JSON, XML, YAML
Excellent knowledge of Git, Gitflow, and DevOps tools (Docker, Bamboo, Jenkins, Terraform)
Ability to perform performance analysis, troubleshooting, and fixes (optional)
Excellent knowledge of Unix
Familiarity with pharmaceutical data formats will be an advantage
