Project Overview

We are building AI solutions purpose-built for UK financial services - not just wrappers around existing APIs. Our mission is to engineer reliable AI systems that work seamlessly in a regulated environment. 

As an AI Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable AI-powered systems that integrate machine learning models into production-grade applications.

This role combines strong AI/ML expertise with architectural thinking and solid software engineering practices. You will work on both improving existing AI capabilities and building new solutions from the ground up - from data ingestion and modelling strategy through to deployment, optimisation, and long-term maintainability. You will also play a key role in shaping agentic AI platforms, helping design systems that enable more autonomous and high-performance AI capabilities within financial services workflows.

Key initiatives include:

• AI Co-Pilot for Advisers: Supports client calls, automates admin, and generates structured suitability reports.

• Compliance & QA Platform: Analyses all customer interactions to detect risk and ensure Consumer Duty-aligned outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production-grade AI systems that go beyond simple API integrations

• Architect scalable backend solutions that embed AI/ML models into reliable and maintainable applications

• Lead the development of agentic AI platforms and engineered AI workflows

• Productionise machine learning models in close collaboration with data scientists

• Drive greenfield AI initiatives end-to-end: from data ingestion and modelling strategy to deployment and iteration

• Audit and optimise existing AI features for performance, accuracy, robustness, and scalability

• Establish strong engineering standards across AI development, including testing, code quality, traceability, and maintainability

• Apply graph-based approaches where relationships, entity resolution, and non-linear reasoning are important

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions

• Profile and optimise systems for low latency, high throughput, and dependable production performance

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices in AI system design and deployment

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, including designing and delivering production systems end-to-end

• Graph tech experience is a key differentiator - experience applying graphs to solve non-linear/relational data problems is strongly preferred

• Proven experience building and maintaining production ML/LLM systems, not only prototypes

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, embeddings, evaluation, and AI system reliability

• Ability to design scalable system architectures and make sound technical decisions across backend and AI layers

• Strong software engineering foundations, including maintainable code, testing practices, and deployment workflows

• Experience taking AI solutions from the prototype or research stage into production

• A true builder mindset: pragmatic, hands-on, outcome-oriented, and comfortable owning complex technical challenges

• Ability to work across disciplines and partner effectively with product, engineering, DevOps, and data science teams

• Fluency in Polish and an advanced level of English (B2/C1)
